Inside a Record Label Audition

Ever wonder what it’s like to audition for a record label? Check out  14 year old Oksana Pasian’s audition for Hollywood/Def Jam Records. She’s the little sister of Karina Pasian and definitely has raw talent and a lot of potential. In a few years with more vocal training and artist development she’ll be even better! Fresh Faces: Supermodel in the making Lisa Ramos

You might recognize Lisa Ramos…this NYC native was one of the 14 shorties cast on cycle 13 of America’s Next Top Model. Lisa took the time out of her busy schedule to do a quick Q&A with securitypleeze.com Check out her gorgeous portfolio!  She’s definitely a model on the rise. Trin: How long have you been modeling, and how did you get started?

Lisa:  I’ve been modeling for about three years. I got started because my dance teacher saw some potential in me and got me started.

Trin: What do you like/dislike about the business?

Lisa: I pretty much love everything about “the biz”.  I think models should be more helpful to each other instead of trying to bring each other down! If you got it, you got it. Good things will happen for you.

Trin: What are your industry goals?

Lisa:  My goals are to book beauty, fashion and commercial campaigns and to get into acting!

Trin: What advice do you have for aspiring models?
Lisa: Just do what you want to do. As long as you try, you’ll get somewhere!

America’s next top model is…Nicole Fox!

Nicole Fox, the 18 year old quirky beauty from Colorado has won cycle 13 of America’s Next Top Model. Prizes include a $100,000 contract with Covergirl Cosmetics, a contract with Wilhelmina models, and a 6 page spread in Seventeen Magazine. I’m happy to say I was rooting for Nicole. I always knew she’d make the top 3. I think her versatile look gives her an edge and she can definitely pull off a range of high fashion to commercial ( see pic below). Congrats to Nicole and to runner up Laura Kirkpatrick of Kentucky.

Victoria’s Secret looking for the next runway angel

So, do you think you have what it takes to strut on a catwalk? Victoria’s Secret is launching a nationwide search for its next supermodel. There will be four casting calls across the country including NYC, Miami, LA, and Chicago.  If  you can’t make it in person, you can also enter online from Oct. 1 – Oct. 24. A select group of judges will then choose 10 finalists who will be flown to NYC for Angel Boot Camp. Finalists will face a series of modeling challenges that will be filmed and air in weekly Webisodes on CBS and  vsallaccess . The winner will be selected by public vote and walk in the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which airs Dec. 1 on CBS.  Check out VS angel Miranda Kerr on video explaining further details and contest rules.
