Your world becomes smaller, so yeah, it is a weird reality. You stop doing things like having a key in your pocket, opening the door for yourself because you become so busy. All of a sudden, somebody takes that over for you. You do lose touch a little bit; anybody who says they don’t is a liar. Your life is not like a person who goes to work, opens their door, goes to the grocery store. I lived that life for 20-something years, and now my life is different, but I have my foot in both worlds. I have found myself lately saying it needs to be more simple. I can’t have all these people around, especially once you have children. I’ve been able to always keep a good perspective. I’ve never, thank God, gone completely off into the stratosphere. I’m not saying I haven’t had my moments [laughs], but I’m always able to come back.”

AMAs: Janet Jackson opens..and rocks it!

My favorite artist of all time, Janet Jackson opened up the AMAs and rocked it. She did an 8 minute medley of mostly classic Janet songs including: Control, What have you done for me lately, Miss You Much, If, Make me, and finally Together Again. It feels great to see Janet back on top and opening up an awards show. I think it’s going to be a great year for her (and jj fans ) Check out the performance video!

Film: Angelina Jolie’s poster for “Salt”

Check out the poster for  Angelina Jolie‘s upcoming thriller Salt.  Due out July 23, my birthday yay the film centers around mysterious Evelyn A. Salt (Jolie), a CIA operative trying to clear her name. The role was intended for Tom Cruise but was rewritten for Jolie after he dropped out. It looks pretty good!

Halle Berry tips big, Mariah Carey globe-trots to Italy

Two of the industry’s elite were out and about this week. Halle Berry pictured above, waits for her car after enjoying lunch at Piccolino’s in L.A. She tips valet with a $20 bill. I love Halle with short hair. I hope she keeps it for awhile. It gives her an edge and makes her stand out. Below, Mariah Carey is pictured in Milan yesterday doing  promotion.  She was all smiles as she signed autographs for her adoring lambs (fans) at the Four Seasons Hotel.
