Film: “The Purge” tops box office- headed for $38 million this weekend
Thriller The Purge, exceeded expectations and made 16.7 million at the box office on Friday and is expected to make about $38 million this weekend. The film stars Ethan Hawke and Game of Thrones' Lena Headley. The film is set in the future and one night per year citizens can legally commit violent crimes. The movie cost $3 million to make. I saw this film on Friday and it was -edge-of-your-seat awesome. I highly recommend it!

Will and Jaden Smith cover New York Magazine as they promote their latest film, After Earth. Here's what Will had to say when asked if his children were pushed into showbiz and if he'd be ok with Jaden being a dentist:
It may seem like we have pushed our kids into the business, but that is absolutely insane. I would never, ever, push somebody to have their face on a poster that’s going be everywhere in the world. He is making a choice from the informed. It’s less scary to me than if he wanted to be a dentist in that I couldn’t help with what he’d chosen. I have relationships with some of the biggest filmmakers and actors and producers on Earth. So I can be a huge help. Willow chose singing and then un-chose it. She said, “Daddy, I want to go to school with my friends during the week, and I want to hang out with them on the weekends.” At the peak of “Whip My Hair,” she’s like, “Daddy, I’m done.” At the end of the day, it has to be their choice.
Jaden added in his 2 cents: He’s, like, really just cool. He lets us have our freedom as long as we can control our freedom.
Film: Jared Leto ‘didn’t eat’ to lose weight for ‘The Dallas Buyers Club’
Jared Leto admits he "didn't eat" to get down to 116 for his role in The Dallas Buyers Club where he plays a transexual with AIDS.
I just basically didn't eat. I ate very little. 'I had done similar things with weight, but this was different, I think the role demanded that commitment… 'It was about how does that effect how I walk, how I talked, who I am, how I feel. You know, you feel very fragile and delicate and unsafe.
Jared says that family and friends that didn't know what he was doing thought he was sick…luckily he has recently regained his weight back. What a commitment!

Check out a recap from the 2013 Academy Awards. Above is one of my favorite looks of the night, Charlize Thereon. She looked stunning with her pixie cut along with the all white Dior gown. Other honorable mentions include Jennifer Lawrence, who was twitter favorite for best dressed in her blush Dior gown, and Halle Berry who got mixed reviews for her plunging Versace gown.

Jamie Foxx calls Spike Lee “irresponsible” and “shady” for his criticism of ‘Django Unchained’
Spike Lee has been pretty clear about his disdain for the Quentin Tarantino’s award winning film Django Unchained. He has called the film disrespectful and refuses to see it.
“American Slavery was not a Sergio Leone Spaghetti Western. It was a holocaust. My ancestors are slaves stolen from Africa. I will honor them,”
he tweeted.
Jamie Foxx had this to to say about Spike Lee’s criticism in a recent interview with The Guardian:
“The question for me is: where’s Spike Lee coming from?” he said. “He didn’t like Whoopi Goldberg, he doesn’t like Tyler Perry, he doesn’t like anybody, I think he’s sort of run his course. I mean, I respect Spike, he’s a fantastic director. But he gets a little shady when he’s taking shots at his colleagues without looking at the work. To me, that’s irresponsible.”

Film: Spotlight on “Anna”
Halloween is just around the corner and I recently had the chance to check out a new creepy short film, Anna written, directed, & starring Matthew Solomon. The film also stars actresses Lisa-Marie Long [The Hike]and Killebrew-Mason. This film was very well written and had an eerie feel to it. Anyone who knows me, knows I don’t do ghost stories lol.
